This month, as I think about Italian desserts, I’m overcome with childhood memories of emotional guilt, an undying passion for Almond Cake and downright resentment – how come nobody ever told me how good cannoli are?!
The ‘cannoli that changed my life day’ kicked off to a slow start. I was wounded from the night before when I had tried to create a Thai-come-Gujarati dessert which, by the way, failed miserably. Lunch would be with a good friend and wannabe vegetarian at a quaint little café in Victoria.
