Strawberry-lime Stuffed Cupcake
Can you believe Food Network UK is now officially 1 year-old? We may be older and wiser (and still rather good-looking), but what have we learnt about you in the last year? Well, one significant fact that stands out is the obsession over a good pudding. And might we add, we couldn’t agree with you more.
Here at FN HQ, we believe there is no better way to celebrate than with our favourite and most popular recipes from the past year. So while we are quaffing champers and nibbling slices of cake in celebration, you can enjoy our top 5 most popular recipes of the year.
Top 5 most popular recipes
5. The fifth most searched for recipe on our website is the one for these oh-so-simple Blueberry Muffins, which you all may have washed down with a tall mug of coffee—or possibly with another muffin. Don’t worry, we won’ tell anyone if you don’t.
4. Everyone loves a pie. This year, Danny Boome’s quick Banoffee Pie recipe sent you bananas as the fourth most popular recipe in our list—you and us both.

3. It was only a matter of time before the notorious cupcake entered our countdown. Here it graces the number three spot in the form of Strawberry-lime Stuffed Cupcakes. Cupcake Week came and conquered our hearts, making these sugary-treats with their perfectly placed strawberry a winner. If this countdown was based purely on aesthetics, this one would take the biscuit. Ironic, isn’t it?
2. The one that just missed out on first prize was Andy Bates’ wedge-i-licious Cheese and Onion Pie. Our first (and only) savoury offering on our list just proves that Great Britain takes a whole lot of pride in the pie; and that our affinity towards cheese and onion flavoured everything is everlasting.
1. It will come as no surprise that the number one spot has been whipped up by Andy Bates (again). Your favourite recipe of the year is, without a doubt, his Milk Chocolate Tart. Rich, sweet and a little bit naughty, this chocolate tart is like the perfect partner. Pair it up with a cheeky glass of red and we’re in business.

And who could forget our 5 most popular chefs? Queen of Food Network UK, Ina Garten is reigning champion as your favourite chef with her easy entertaining recipes and love of a good dinner party.
Top British cook Nigella Lawson stormed into the number two spot with her delicious comfort food, while Giada de Laurentiis closely follows in third with her classic Italian dishes.
Coming in at fourth is American Rachael Ray who cooks up simple 30 Minute Meals suitable for all the family. Finally, rounding up the leader board is British chef Andy Bates who, apart from being the only male chef in our top 5, loves nothing more than making a quick pie and it seems you don’t either.
